Sports Car World was founded by Frank Bertrang over 30 years ago, Frank's knowledge of the Lotus world, his business concepts and unmatched ability to be a partner and be friends with everyone that came in contact with him, made Sports Car World a globally recognized resource for Lotus car parts. Frank orchestrated Lotus gatherings in the country side of south Texas, Frank created and Copyrighted his own parts manual, his love and passion for this industry was intense. Frank passed away in late 2008, though his wife Becky tried to keep Sports Car World running, the business demand were just too great, Becky contacted Paul Rego a longtime friend and business partner , Paul and Becky worked a deal that would keep Sports Car World alive with the same passion Frank had. Paul relocated the business from Evant to a new 30,000sq facility in Dallas, Texas.

Soon after high school Paul began looking for a car, he stumbled upon Sports Car World, which then was located on Harry Hines in Dallas, Texas, Paul immediately fell in love with a Europa, not only did this purchase get Paul a new car, it was the foundation of a friendship with Frank. Paul began to spend time at Sports Car World, and eventually began to work for Frank in the Service department, when Frank decided to let go of the sales and service, he offered the service business to Paul and moved his parts operation to Evant, Texas.

Paul and his staff have over 60 combined years of Lotus knowledge and with the creation of a state of the art warehouse system, his staff is able to identify and locate the correct part as needed.
